Highlighting Secondary Metallurgy: FB 23040 Meeting in Smedjebacken

Yesterday, Flor Staflin represented Carbomax in Smedjebacken together with Research Block 23040 Secondary Metallurgy – one of three research groups we participate in within Technical Area 23 (or TO23).

These projects are, through the trade organisation Jernkontoret, designed to connect steel manufacturers, universities, and research institutes to collaboratively address research and development challenges that affect the entire industry This group focuses on secondary metallurgy.

A few times each year, the group meets at one of the participating steel companies. This time, the meeting was hosted by Ovako Smedjebacken, creating valuable opportunities for discussions, and collaboration across the industry.

During the day, Flor had the opportunity to meet and exchange perspectives with Eddy Nestor Nitunga from Swerim, Christina Viklund White from Ovako Smedjebacken, Anna-Karin Kron from Alleima, Christer Ryman from Jernkontoret and Urban Wehnert from Calderys.

For Carbomax, participating in these kinds of collaborations is an important way to stay close to both research and industry development – and to continue contributing to the future of metallurgy.
