We always find it exciting following our products paths and seeing how they are used in different ways, helping our clients reduce their carbon footprints.

Carbomax enjoys an invaluable reputation for corporate trustworthiness in northern Europe based on consistently conducting business with integrity and in compliance with laws and regulations governing its activities. Success in business depends on building and maintaining the trust of customers, shareholders, employees, governments and the general public.
We like to think so. As a matter of fact, it is highly possible to put the residues to work in your own facility, in a different metallurgical process, or in a whole other business.
The industry always needs to be on the lookout for more effective ways to use carbon and alloys. At Carbomax we use every fraction of the materials, careful not to waste any of the natural resources. And thanks to our briquetting facility, we are able to reuse several different residues from the iron and steel industries, way more efficiently.
At Carbomax we work hard to decrease our own carbon footprint. As part of that journey, we have identified our two greatest impacts on the environment. Dust emissions and carbon dioxide emissions from the production process, is one. And emissions from the material transport, is the other.
Take transportation, for instance. Thanks to the strategic location of our facilities, right by lake Mälaren, we are able to replace truck transports with ships, in large part. Moreover, all of the vehicles in our fleet are modern and energy efficient. In addition, we store all the raw materials in Sweden, to ensure short distances. And we make sure to keep our storage facilities in close proximity to our clients, if needed.
In the production, we work with a smart combination of technical solutions and strict cleaning routines, to limit diffuse dusting and emissions. No matter how much you clean, some dust follow the stormwater. Thats why we installed a purification plant for the stormwater within the facility. As far as waste goes, we always make sure to take necessary care of hazardous, as well as regular waste, and we recycle as much as we possibly can.
We design all our materials in a sustainable way. Our briquettes are an excellent example of this. When recovering waste from other industries to create briquettes we jointly reduce the needs for virgin materials. We also use organic materials as binders in the briquettes, which is more sustainable and yields no additional slag.
The usage of carbon is as crucial as it is environmentally unfriendly. That is why we always keep the usage to a minimum, and primarily for carburizing the steel. Something that is absolutely necessary, even in sustainable steel production. Furthermore, carbon can be used to extract metals from slag, which has a lower carbon footprint compared to using standard processes when extracting metals from virgin materials.
Steel is necessary for global prosperity to develop. And as poverty decreases, steel production will only increase. At Carbomax we work on making the metallurgical industry both sustainable and competitive.
