THINK AHEAD.

THINK BIG.

We want to offer the absolute best and most efficient products there are. That is why we put a lot of metallurgical effort in sourcing, adjusting and even producing the products. As we see it quality means predictability, efficient production and low environmental impact in comparison.

How we changed the game

1992
Robert Idegren starts Carbomax.
1995
The Västerås facility is inaugurated.
2005
Several bulk alloys are added to the portfolio.
2012
The briquetteing plant produces the first set of briquettes based on mill scale and carbon.
2014
Robert Idegren acquires AB Ferrolegeringar, enable an even broader portfolio on alloys and metals.
2016
Our facility for purification of storm water starts operating.
2017
Carbomax and AB Ferrolegeringar are merged to facilitate the common development.
2019
Intertrade, a new business area is created to increase sales in Europe, find new sourching possibilities and also increase the number of metallurgical customers outside the Nordic.
2020
First biocarbon deliveries from Carbomax AB.
2022
Spiltan AB, steps in and become a new minor owner in Carbomax.

How we work together

We have collaborated with a bunch of different companies and industries over the years. Here are a few.

A reduction that reduces costs and environmental impacts

A reduction that reduces costs and environmental impacts

By reducing molybdenum oxide at a much lower temperature it is possible to save money and the environment at the same time.

The future of recycled residues

The future of recycled residues

As scrap is becoming the new ore, the world needs a solution that ensures all residues are taken care of in the best possible way.

Briquette based on four raw materials

Briquette based on four raw materials

Some residues are more difficult to find benefits for, than others. But in order to reduce the need for virgin raw materials, Eramet teamed up with us to find a greener solution for their ferroalloy production.

How to make waste saleable and sustainable

This partnership shows that it is possible to help a customer turn a by-product into a saleable product, while making our industry more sustainable, and reducing impact on the environment and the natural resources, at the same time.

Where to find us

We have our own facility in Västerås, on the shore of the beautiful lake Mälaren. It is a strategic location in many ways, as it enables us to deliver large volumes at short notice.
